Simba SC have entered the second day of preparations at their 10-day training camp in Polokwane, South Africa, with head coach Steve Barker continuing to work with the squad ahead of their Mainland Premier League clash against Yanga and other fixtures following the FIFA break.
Barker has continued with his training programme while welcoming more players arriving at camp to join their teammates and begin preparations together.
Among the players who arrived in Polokwane and began training were winger Elie Mpanzu, defender Ismail Toure and youngster Bashir Kibaila, who were not among the players who arrived in South Africa earlier.
The camp is considered an important part of Simba’s preparations, with the technical bench using the time to assess the players, improve tactical systems and ensure they are physically and technically ready.
Simba entered the camp during the league break with the aim of strengthening the team, using the period of calm to fine-tune their plans.
It can be said that the Reds of Msimbazi are determined to bring the league title back to Msimbazi this season, as they continue to go head-to-head with traditional rivals Yanga, with both teams making perfect starts by winning all six of their matches.
The October 10 clash between the two sides is expected to provide an early indication of the direction the season could take for both teams.
