Simba SC has successfully reached an agreement to extend the contract of their Head Coach, Fadlu Davids, along with his entire technical bench, for one more year. This follows successful talks held between Fadlu and the clubâs Honorary President, Mohammed Dewji âMoâ, at the end of the past season.
Fadlu, who joined Simba last season with his close team of specialistsâincluding an assistant coach, fitness trainer, and video analystâhelped the team improve its performance significantly. Under his leadership, Simba finished second in the NBC Tanzania Premier League with 78 points and reached the final of the CAF Confederation Cup against Moroccoâs RS Berkane.
Their initial contract was for one season and expired at the end of the campaign. However, due to the positive trajectory of the team and the clubâs long-term development plans, the Simba Board of Directors, which met recently in Dar es Salaam, officially approved the extension of Fadlu's and his staffâs contracts for an additional year. The new deal also includes a clause allowing for a further one-year extension based on performance.
The technical team is expected to return from a short break and begin preparations for the upcoming season. Fadlu has already submitted a comprehensive report evaluating the previous season, which includes recommendations for signing new players with international quality, experience in major competitions, and the technical discipline to execute instructions effectively.
Additionally, the coach has proposed a thorough assessment of the current squad, emphasizing that only players who meet the required standards of quality and technical discipline will remain with the team.
