The head coach of the Ugandan national team Milutin Sredojevic 'Micho' has said that his team is in a transition period where they are building a strong team from experienced players and bringing in young players
Speaking at a press conference earlier today, Micho said that meeting Tanzania with several players who play abroad (Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Belgium) as well as those from Simba and Yanga makes Taifa Stars a strong team.
"I have to admit that Tanzania and Uganda are in different situations at the moment. We are playing against a team that has players from clubs that have qualified for the quarter-finals of the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederations Cup. We are playing aainst a team that has sent players to countries like Morocco , Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Europe"
"We are in a transition period. We are trying to get new blood into our team after many of our players whose time to serve the national team ends"
"It won't be an easy game at all but we have come here to fight for the important results to keep our hopes alive in the Afcon competition," says Michu
The Ugandan captain Emmanuel Okwi has said that they have received a good reception in Tanzania, they are ready for the game that will be played at the Benjamin Mkapa stadium on Tuesday, their mission is to emerge victorious
Okwi said that they lost their home game so they will fight to ensure they win and revive the hope of participating in the Afcon 2023
