In the draw set in Cairo Egypt, Simba is drawn in Group D with the 1998 Champions League winners, Asec Mimosas of Ivory Coast, Gendarmerie (USGN) of Niger and the 2019–20 Confederation Cup champions, RS Berkane of Morocco.
Pablo said when he was handed the job, he was told their goal was to reach the semi-finals, which he sees as the time now to start preparations early for the tournament, given the schedule indicating they will start at home February 13, next year against Asec Mimosas.
Pablo said as they progress in the tournament it becomes more and more difficult, but they are ready to make great preparations to ensure they reach their goals.
"You know RS Berkane is a good team and has our former star player, Clatous Chama, so we know it will not be an easy match, but Asec is also the oldest team and has a lot of experience in this tournament. < / p>
"In terms of Gendarmerie (USGN) it is not a mock team especially remembering the previous game against the Red Arrows, it was tough, so we will not underestimate them in any way, every game will be like a final for us until we achieve our goals," he said
According to the schedule after the match against Asec Mimosas, they will play USGN on February 20 and seven days later they will take on RS Berkane before March 13 to return home to reconcile with the Moroccans and then March 20 to pursue the 27-time Ivory Coast champions before April 22 returns to Benjamin Mkapa Stadium to conclude group action against USGN
