Former Simba head coach Didier Gomes said he has asked to leave the club after failing to reach the goals set for the Champions League
Gomes made the remarks at a press conference yesterday after Simba issued a statement approving his resignation.
He said he believed it was the right time for him to leave the post due to his failure to achieve success
"The club's goal was to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League but we failed, so I decided to stay away to allow others to take the team for more success"
"I believe it is the right time for me to make that decision due to failure to achieve the club's goals. I am deeply hurt by the failure
The coach who joined Simba in January 2021, helped Simba win two trophies, premier league and the Confederations Cup while successfully reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League
