While Simba Sc is expected to return to Dar es Salaam on Friday, Head Coach, Didier Gomes said they have achieved great success in implementing training program at the camp from Morocco to Arusha where they are now
Simba started camping in Morocco to prepare for the new 2021/22 season, before moving it to Arusha due to many of its players being called to National teams, where they will now return tomorrow ready for the annual Simba Day festival, to be held in Benjamin Mkapa Stadium on Sunday this week.
Gomes has revealed that after completing the registration of new players and starting the camp, he asked for more friendly matches to prepare his team, which the officials managed to give him, thus giving him a picture of his squad as well as building physical fitness for players.
"We've had a mix of new players registered this season, I needed to get friendly matches, to helped me see all the players getting fit"
"To a large extent the matches have helped me because my players have been well prepared," Gomes was quoted as saying by Nipashe < / p>
At the camp Simba has played a total of five friendly matches, three international matches where two played Morocco and local teams before playing three in Arusha against Castal Union, Fountain Gate FC and concluding against Aigle Noir of Burundi.
The Mainland Premier League and FA Cup winners will play another friendly match against TP Mazembe of DR Congo, a match to be played on Sunday at Mkapa Stadium as part of their Simba Day concert.
