Simba's number one goalkeeper and National team player Aishi Manula said it is no longer a surprise to win the award for the best goalkeeper in the Tanzanian league as he has done so many times
Manula said he is now aiming for the African goalkeeper award
Manula joined Simba in 2017 from Azam Fc. Since joining Simba, Manula has emerged as the best VPL goalkeeper
In addition, while serving Azam Fc, Manula won the award twice and so the total number of awards he has won in a row is six
"This is the sixth season in a row I'm leading the 'clean sheet', and being the best goalkeeper. I'm used to it now and even any fan hearing Manula is the best goalkeeper, no one is shocked at the moment. I find it normal, "said Manula.
"Now I want to go a little higher because locally I'm done. I want to compete to get enough 'clean sheets' in the African Champions League, to take the prize there"
Manula finished the Mainland Premier League 2020/21 with 18 clean sheets, followed by Mbeya City goalkeeper Haroun Mandanda who stood 15 times without allowing his net to be shaken while Metacha Mnata of Yanga and Abutwalib Mshery of Mtibwa Sugar , they have 13 'clean sheets' each.
Veteran goalkeeper Juma Kaseja stands 11 times without conceding a goal alongside Aaron Kalambo of Dodoma Jiji, while Daniel Mgore of Biashara United has 10 cleasn sheets
