Simba SC take to the Uhuru Stadium in Dar es Salaam today to face Equatorial Guinea’s FC 15 de Agosto in the second leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League (CAFCL).
The match is widely viewed as a formality following Simba’s emphatic 6-1 victory in the first leg, played at the Uhuru Stadium last Wednesday.
That result gives Simba a commanding five-goal advantage heading into the return fixture, leaving the Msimbazi Reds with one foot in the group stage of Africa’s premier club competition.
Despite the 6-1 win in the first leg, Simba head coach Steve Barker has urged his players not to become complacent, calling on them to finish the job with the utmost discipline in front of their home supporters.
Simba’s Communications and Information Manager, Ahmed Ali, has stressed that the club have ambitious targets this season, with their sights set on reaching the semi-finals of the competition.
Ahmed said their intention is to secure a place in the group stage with a historic victory that will send a strong message to their rivals.
