Simba SC have made it clear that their main objective this season in the CAF Champions League is to reach the semi-finals.
Simba believe that their investment and recruitment are sufficient to help the team progress beyond the stages where they have fallen short in previous years.
Speaking about the club’s plans, Simba Communications and Information Manager Ahmed Ally revealed that the management and technical bench are fully committed to surpassing the quarter-final stage, which has become familiar territory for the club, and making further progress this season.
He explained that the major changes made to the squad, including the signing of players with extensive international competition experience, are the main factors giving the club confidence that reaching the semi-finals is an achievable target this season.
The manager added that preparations are progressing well and that the squad is in good physical and psychological condition to face whatever challenges lie ahead.
The first test of the Msimbazi Reds’ ambitious target will come on October 20, 2026, when Simba take on 15 de Agosto at Uhuru Stadium in the first leg of the qualifying round.
The match will be played behind closed doors before the two teams meet again at the same venue on October 25, 2026, for the return leg.
