Simba striker Elie Mpanzu appears to be reaching the best form of his career, impressively embracing the new role assigned to him by head coach Steve Barker.
Mpanzu has scored three goals in his last two league matches, taking his tally to four goals this season.
He first scored the winning goal against Yanga to secure all three points for Simba in a 2-1 victory, before netting twice in their 6-1 triumph over Mashujaa FC the other day.
His outstanding performances in those matches have earned him the Man of the Match award twice.
It is worth noting that Barker was the one who decided to change Mpanzu’s role from a winger to a central striker, initially deploying him in that position towards the end of last season.
This season, Mpanzu has featured more frequently in that role after striker Ibrahim Doumbia, who was signed in the previous transfer window, struggled to make an impact.
