Kenyan international attacking midfielder and Harambee Stars player Mohammed Bajaber has returned to Kenya after completing his move to Nairobi United FC.
Bajaber has joined the Kenyan second-tier club as a free agent, signing a two-year contract.
The player had been without a club since July this year after parting ways with Tanzanian side Simba SC by mutual consent.
His spell at Simba was affected by several challenges, particularly recurring injuries that prevented him from gaining enough continuity to play regularly and fully showcase his ability.
He Rejected Gor Mahia
Bajaber’s decision to join Nairobi United has caused a stir in Kenyan football, particularly given that several big clubs were interested in securing his services.
According to reports from Kenya, Bajaber turned down a good offer from Gor Mahia FC, the reigning FKF Premier League champions, who had made significant efforts to secure the midfielder’s signature.
Instead, the star opted to join Nairobi United, a move reportedly seen as a sign of his belief in the club’s project.
Bajaber’s return to Kenya is expected to be a major boost for Nairobi United, who are determined to earn promotion and play in the Kenyan Premier League next season.
His experience of playing in competitive environments, coupled with his involvement with the Kenya national team, is expected to strengthen Nairobi United’s promotion campaign.
