Simba right-back Nathaniel Chilambo was part of the Taifa Stars squad that took to the field in Morocco today to face Madagascar in an AFCON 2027 qualifying match.
The match ended in a 1-1 draw, with the Stars taking the lead through Cyprian Kachwele before Madagascar equalised in the second half.
Taifa Stars head coach Miguel Gamondi started Chilambo at right-back, and the Simba defender can be considered one of the standout performers for the Stars, contributing both defensively and in pushing attacks forward.
The match was the Stars’ second in the campaign after they lost their previous game against Guinea-Bissau.
Tanzania have already qualified for AFCON 2027 as the host nation, but are using these qualifying matches as part of their preparations for the tournament.
