With the NBC Premier League on hold for the FIFA international break, Simba SC winger Libasse Gueye has used the opportunity to return to his native Senegal, where he also took time to visit his former club, Teungueth FC.
Gueye, who has been one of the standout performers in the Simba squad this season, has taken the chance to rest and spend time with his family following an impressive start to the campaign with the Msimbazi-based side.
His trip to Senegal has not been limited to a break, as the player has also had the opportunity to return to familiar surroundings, including visiting his former club before heading back to Tanzania to resume his Simba duties.
Gueye has been an important weapon for Simba since the start of the season, showcasing his ability in attack and creating opportunities for his teammates.
In the opening matches of the season, the player has been directly involved in the team’s goals, providing five assists and scoring one goal in his first five matches.
That form also helped him win the NBC Premier League Player of the Month award for August 2026, further raising Simba fans’ expectations of him this season.
Simba’s break is expected to end on September 24, when the players are scheduled to return to camp to begin preparations for the next phase of the season.
After regrouping, Simba plan to travel to South Africa for a training camp of around 10 days as part of their preparations for the upcoming matches.
The camp is expected to be important for the technical bench as they prepare the squad physically, technically and tactically for the demanding October schedule.
