As Simba’s squad prepares to travel to South Africa for a 10-day training camp, around seven players will be away on international duty.
The players have been called up to their respective national teams for the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.
The stars include Yusuf Kagoma, Vedastus Masinde, Bakari Msimu, Anthony Mligo, Nathaniel Chilambo, Morice Abraham and Djibrilla Kassali, who has joined the Niger national team.
However, it could be argued that there is no major cause for concern, as the players will continue with their training programmes while with their national teams and return with their competitive sharpness maintained.
The good news for Simba is that many of their key stars will not be involved with their national teams, giving head coach Steve Barker a good opportunity to prepare his squad with most of his key players available.
Players such as Clatous Chama, Anicet Oura, Libasse Gueye, Rushine de Reuck, Ismail Toure, Ibrahim Jaabar, Keletso and others are expected to be part of the squad travelling to South Africa for the 10-day camp as they prepare for the clash against Yanga and a busy schedule of Mainland Premier League and CAF Champions League matches.
