Simba have confirmed that the squad will travel to South Africa on September 24 for a training camp as they prepare for upcoming Premier League and CAF Champions League (CAFCL) matches.
Simba’s Communications and Media Manager, Ahmed Ali, said the club’s management has given players who have no national team commitments a break. They will return on September 24 and travel directly to South Africa for the camp.
“This camp is being overseen directly by Honorary President Mohamed Dewji ‘Mo’, who felt that instead of continuing to train in Bunju during these 10 days, the team should have a short camp in South Africa to provide a quieter environment and allow us to prepare properly,”
“October will be a ‘hot’ month because of the schedule of the various competitions Simba are involved in, so this camp has been organised around our needs ahead of that demanding schedule,” said Ahmed.
Ahmed added that the camp will not include players who have been called up for national team duty. Seven Simba players have been selected for the Tanzania national team, Taifa Stars: Nathaniel Chilambo, Vedastus Masinde, Bakari Msimu, Nickson Kibabage (injured), Anthony Mligo, Yusuph Kagoma and Moricce Abraham.
