Simba SC Competitions Committee Chairman Swedi Mkwabi has called on Simba fans to fill Uhuru Stadium on Sunday, September 13, 2026, when the team faces Mighty Wanderers in the second leg of their CAF Champions League preliminary-round tie.
Speaking shortly after Simba’s squad returned to Dar es Salaam from Malawi, Mkwabi said the away victory was an important result that puts the team in a strong position to advance.
However, he stressed that every Simba supporter has a role to play in ensuring the team achieves its objective in the return leg at Uhuru Stadium.
“It was a difficult match, but the victory was a very important result for us. We have returned home and will prepare well for the second leg.”
“We are asking our fans to come in large numbers to Uhuru Stadium on Sunday so that we can achieve our objective together,” Mkwabi said.
Having reached the CAF Champions League quarter-finals several times, Mkwabi said Simba are aiming to go further this season, with at least a semi-final appearance as their target.
“This time, we are well prepared. We want to go further, reaching the semi-finals and even the final,” Mkwabi added.
After returning to Dar es Salaam today, Simba’s management gave the players a one-day break. They will resume preparations tomorrow ahead of the match, in which Mnyama need either a victory or a draw to qualify for the first round.
