Simba SC Board Chairman Crescentius Magori has described the 1-0 victory over Mighty Wanderers in the first leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary round as a positive step, but stressed that the team must finish the job in the return leg.
Speaking shortly after Simba’s squad returned to Dar es Salaam from Malawi, Magori urged fans to turn out in large numbers at Uhuru Stadium on Sunday to help the team complete the remaining task together.
“The match was difficult. Mighty Wanderers are a good team, and we are happy to have secured an away victory, but the job is not yet finished.”
“We are asking our fans to come in large numbers to Uhuru Stadium on Sunday so that we can complete our plan of qualifying for the next stage,” Magori said.
Simba will have six days to complete preparations for the second leg, which will be played at Uhuru Stadium on September 13 at 4:00 p.m.
