Simba SC's Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ally, has assured the club's supporters that striker Ibrahim Doumbia's time to find the back of the net will come.
There has been growing anticipation among Simba fans to see the striker score his first goal and ease the pressure he has been facing from outside the pitch.
Ahmed said Doumbia is a quality striker and that it is only a matter of time before he scores his first goal, adding that Simba fans will have plenty to celebrate when that day arrives.
"He will score, and when he does, it will be a national holiday. The following day, people won't go to work; we'll be celebrating," Ahmed joked, leaving journalists laughing.
"Doumbia is a favourite among Simba fans. Many people appreciate him, so let's continue supporting him. I congratulate Simba fans for continuing to encourage him."
"Yesterday, the fans wanted to see him score. When he came on, they cheered him, and they cheered every time he touched the ball. He is getting better."
"We have told him not to carry the pressure of trying to score a goal, but instead to focus on helping Simba. We have told him that even if you become the top scorer but Simba fail to win the championship, it means nothing. So your first focus should be helping Simba win," Ahmed said.
