Simba SC and Senegalese midfielder Alassane Kanté have reached a mutual agreement to terminate his contract with the club.
The two parties are understood to have reached the amicable agreement after a series of meetings aimed at resolving the contractual issues that had arisen.
Kanté was not part of the technical team's plans, but he also failed to find a new club before the transfer window closed. This led to his return to the squad, where he would have had to wait until January to register with another club.
Initially, the midfielder wanted to be paid the value of the remaining one year on his contract. However, under the new agreement, both parties accepted the terms reached, making Kanté legally a free agent.
Kanté spent just one season with Simba after joining the Tanzanian giants from Tunisian club CA Bizertin.
