Simba Queens have officially been eliminated from the CECAFA tournament for a place in the group stage of the Women's Champions League.
The 2-1 defeat to Kenya Police Bullets in their previous match ended Simba Queens' hopes of reaching the semi-finals, despite their earlier 2-0 victory over Burundi's Top Girls.
Police Bullets advanced to the quarter-finals from Group C after winning both of their matches against Simba Queens and Top Girls. They concluded the group stage with a 3-1 victory over Top Girls.
The outcome will come as a disappointment to Simba fans, as this is the second consecutive season that Simba Queens have failed to secure qualification for the Women's Champions League.
Three seasons ago, Simba Queens made history by reaching the semi-finals of the competition.
