If the Tanzanian Premier League season ended today, Simba's attacking midfielder Libasse Gueye would undoubtedly be a strong candidate for the MVP award.
The Senegalese star has made an impressive start to the season and has already established himself as one of the league's most dangerous players, thanks to his significant contribution in Simba's three away victories.
Of the six goals Simba have scored so far, Gueye has been directly involved in five, providing four assists.
Those numbers highlight the Senegalese midfielder's enormous influence in Simba's attack, to the extent that head coach Steve Barker appears to view him as his main attacking weapon on the right flank.
Simba have increasingly relied on that side to build their attacks, with Gueye proving instrumental in creating chances and causing problems for opposing defences.
Even more impressive is the pace at which Gueye has started this season compared with the previous campaign. He joined Simba during last season's mid-season transfer window and was involved in eight goals, scoring seven and providing one assist.
This season, however, he has already been involved in five goals in just three matches.
Based on those statistics, Gueye is showing early signs that this could be his best season yet in a Simba shirt.
