After opening the season with a 2-0 victory over Kagera Sugar, Simba SC have quickly turned their attention to their next NBC Premier League fixture against Pamba Jiji.
The Wekundu wa Msimbazi have had little time to celebrate their first win of the season, with the squad returning to training today to prepare for what is expected to be another highly competitive match.
Simba will travel to Mwanza on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, to face Pamba Jiji at CCM Kirumba Stadium.
The match is expected to provide another test for Simba, particularly given Pamba Jiji’s reputation as a competitive side when facing the Msimbazi giants.
Last season, the two teams shared the points after playing out a 1-1 draw at CCM Kirumba, highlighting how difficult Pamba Jiji can be for Simba when playing at home.
Barker: We Will Be Better
Speaking after the victory over Kagera Sugar, Simba head coach Steve Barker said his squad is continuing to improve and believes they will be in better shape for the next match.
Barker acknowledged that his squad is not yet at 100 percent, but said the most important thing for them is to secure three points while the players continue working their way back to peak form.
Every Match Is a Final
Simba have made it clear that their main objective this season is to reclaim the Premier League title, which they have missed out on for five consecutive seasons.
As a result, every match carries significant importance for the Wekundu wa Msimbazi in their pursuit of the title. There is little room for dropped points, particularly in the early stages of the season, which can lay the foundation for success at the end of the campaign.
After Kagera Sugar, it is now Pamba Jiji’s turn.
