The Simba Day festival concluded at Uhuru Stadium with Simba suffering a 1-0 defeat to Kenya Police FC in the anniversary match.
It was a match in which Simba head coach Steve Barker used two different teams in each half to give every player an opportunity to feature.
Simba dominated much of the first half, but Kenya Police FC remained solid defensively, making it difficult for the hosts to break through their backline.
Barker started with a stronger lineup in the first half before making wholesale changes at the start of the second half.
Barker's players created several chances, but their finishing was an area that the coach will clearly need to continue working on.
Kenya Police FC's only goal was scored by Elvis Rupia as the match approached its closing stages.
Overall, it was a successful and entertaining festival, with the only disappointment being the defeat on what was otherwise a joyful day for Simba supporters.
