South African attacking midfielder Neo Maema has today started his journey back to Tanzania to rejoin Simba SC, as the Msimbazi Reds complete plans to bring the star back for the new season.
Maema is returning to Simba for a second spell after the club reached an agreement to sign him on a season-long loan from South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns.
After his initial contract with Simba expired at the end of last season, Maema returned to his parent club Mamelodi Sundowns, where he held talks with the club and was eventually handed a new two-year contract.
However, following discussions between Simba SC and Mamelodi Sundowns, the South African champions agreed to allow Maema to return to Tanzania on loan and continue playing for the Msimbazi Reds.
Maema's arrival is viewed as part of Simba's plans to strengthen their squad, with his return reportedly recommended by head coach Steve Barker, who sees the midfielder as an important part of his plans for the upcoming season.
Simba supporters are now looking forward to seeing Maema wear the red jersey again and help the team compete in domestic and continental competitions.
