Striker Suleiman Mwalimu has left Simba SC's training camp in Kigali, Rwanda, and returned to Dar es Salaam as uncertainty continues over his future with the Msimbazi Reds.
Following the dispute that emerged last week between Simba and Moroccan club Wydad AC regarding the striker's registration, Simba were unable to field Mwalimu in the ongoing CECAFA Kagame Cup while negotiations remain unresolved.
His departure from Rwanda has raised further questions about his future, with Simba still attempting to reach an agreement with Wydad to retain the striker on loan for another season.
Under the initial agreement, Simba have until July 30 to complete the loan deal, including payment of the agreed loan fee.
For now, Wydad AC continue to hold Mwalimu's registration rights. If the transfer is not finalized before the deadline, the striker will be required to return to Morocco and rejoin the club.
Mwalimu travelled to Rwanda with the Simba squad for the CECAFA Kagame Cup but was unable to feature in any of the club's matches because of the contractual uncertainty.
His return to Dar es Salaam has fueled speculation that Simba may have abandoned plans to complete the loan deal, potentially paving the way for the striker to return to his parent club. However, neither Simba nor Wydad AC has officially confirmed the outcome of the negotiations.
