Former Mashujaa FC and Tanzania national team Taifa Stars coach Jamhuri Kiwhelo, popularly known as "Julio," has urged Simba SC leaders, members, and supporters to unite in order to help the club achieve its objectives in the upcoming season.
Julio, whose football journey began at Simba as a player before later becoming the club's coach and now a member, said unity is the key foundation needed to help Simba return to the top and end their traditional rivals Yanga's dominance in the Tanzanian Premier League.
He said every Simba supporter should share the same ambition of ensuring the league title returns to Msimbazi next season, adding that it would be a major setback for the historic club to fail to win the championship for a sixth consecutive time.
"All Simba supporters must unite and ensure we fight together and win the championship by any means necessary next season. It would be a disgrace if Yanga win the title for the sixth consecutive time," Julio said.
Warns About Leadership Divisions
Besides emphasizing unity among members and supporters, Julio also addressed the situation within Simba's leadership, claiming there have been challenges in cooperation between current officials and some former club leaders.
He argued that the lack of unity has affected the club's operations and called on all leaders to put aside their differences for the broader interests of Simba.
In his remarks, Julio mentioned former Simba Board Chairman Salim Abdallah, popularly known as "Try Again," saying current and former leaders need to work more closely together to strengthen the club.
Since stepping down from his leadership role on the Board of Directors, Try Again has not frequently been seen working alongside other Simba officials at various club-related events.
However, Simba honorary president Mohamed Dewji, popularly known as "Mo," has continued efforts to bring the club's leaders together with the aim of ensuring Simba's interests remain the priority.
Those efforts appear to have helped reduce previous tensions, with Simba achieving success last season by winning two trophies: the Muungano Cup and the CRDB Cup.
Julio said further success can be achieved if leaders, members, and supporters maintain unity as the club heads into the new 2026/27 competitive season.
