Botswana international midfielder Mothusi Cooper is currently on trial with Simba SC as the club competes in the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup in Kigali, Rwanda.
Cooper was included in Simba's starting lineup for yesterday's Group B opener against Mogadishu City, which ended in a goalless draw.
It is understood that Simba head coach Steve Barker wants to further assess the midfielder during the CECAFA Kagame Cup before deciding whether to approve his signing.
The 28-year-old has previously played for Township Rollers, Jwaneng Galaxy, and Gaborone United in Botswana, as well as Moroccan club MC Oujda.
His performances during the tournament are expected to determine whether he will earn a permanent contract with the Msimbazi Reds ahead of the new season.
