Simba midfielder Clatous Chama was among the players who arrived in Rwanda yesterday ahead of the CECAFA Kagame Cup tournament, which is scheduled to kick off on Friday.
After delivering impressive performances since returning to Simba in January this year, Chama remains one of the club's key figures and continues to carry the hopes of Simba supporters as one of the team's senior players.
Simba did not travel to Rwanda merely to participate in the tournament; the club is determined to win the title, which they have lifted more times than any other team in the competition's history.
Since the tournament was introduced in the 1970s, Simba have won the trophy six times in the regional competition featuring clubs from across East Africa.
Alongside Chama, other notable players who arrived with the squad yesterday included attacking midfielder Anicet Oura, whose future with the Msimbazi Reds had been the subject of much speculation.
Meanwhile, winger Libasse Gueye was expected to arrive in Rwanda today to join his teammates as they begin preparations for their opening Group B match against Mogadishu City on Saturday.
Some of the new signings made during the current transfer window are also expected to make their first appearances for the club during the tournament.
