Simba have dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that the club is in the final stages of selling Senegalese attacking midfielder Libasse Gueye during the current transfer window.
Speaking during a press conference earlier today, Simba Head of Information and Communications Ahmed Ally said the reports are false, insisting that Gueye remains under contract and is an important part of the club's plans ahead of the new competitive season.
Ahmed added that Gueye, along with other players linked with a departure on social media, will remain part of the Msimbazi squad as the team prepares to compete next season.
He also revealed that Simba have not yet completed their recruitment plans for the upcoming season.
"The management has prepared well to sign players with quality and the hunger to compete. They will help ensure the club returns to its best level and performs well in all domestic and international competitions," Ahmed said.
So far, Simba have completed the signings of right-back Nathaniel Chilambo from Azam FC, midfielder Kelvin Nashon from Pamba Jiji, and attacking midfielder Bakari Msimu from Coastal Union of Tanga.
