Simba are continuing to strengthen their squad ahead of the CECAFA Kagame Cup, which is scheduled to begin on July 24 in Kigali, Rwanda.
As part of their preparations for the tournament, the Msimbazi Reds are reportedly close to signing two highly rated players from Mali.
One of the names attracting attention is 22-year-old striker Ibrahim Doumbia, who finished as the top scorer in the Malian Premier League.
Doumbia arrives with an impressive reputation after scoring 17 league goals last season and winning the league's Young Player of the Year award.
Sources indicate that Simba have offered Doumbia a one-year contract with an option to extend it by a further two years if he performs well.
In addition to Doumbia, Simba are also reported to have brought in 27-year-old defensive midfielder Mohamed Sangare of AS Real Bamako.
Reports suggest that Sangare has already agreed personal terms with Simba. However, head coach Steve Barker wants to assess the experienced midfielder during the CECAFA Kagame Cup before giving final approval for the transfer.
