Simba’s management is working to ensure they retain attacking midfielder Anicet Oura, who has attracted interest from several European clubs.
Oura, who joined Simba during the mid-season transfer window, has impressed many teams, with some already approaching the Msimbazi club for his services.
However, reports indicate that Simba head coach Steve Barker has informed the club’s management that he wants Oura to remain part of his plans for next season. Barker has urged Simba officials to do everything possible to keep the talented winger for the club’s benefit and to help achieve the targets set for the upcoming campaign.
The 26-year-old Oura enjoyed an impressive season after arriving from Finland’s IF Gnistan. He helped Simba finish second in the league and win two trophies — the Union Cup and the CRDB Cup. During the recently concluded season, Oura scored six league goals and provided three assists for Simba.
Ahead of the new season, Simba have further strengthened their attacking department and are reportedly close to completing the signing of winger Keletso Makgalwa from South African club Sekhukhune United.
Makgalwa’s arrival was initially seen as a move to replace Oura, but if Simba manage to retain the Ivorian winger, they will have an even more dangerous attacking unit featuring Oura, Elie Mpanzu, and Libase Gueye.
