Despite the expiration of his current contract, Simba SC assistant coach Suleiman Matola appears set to remain at the club after head coach Steve Barker expressed his desire to continue working with him.
Reports indicate that Barker has asked Simba's management to offer Matola a new contract, believing that his experience and deep understanding of the club will be invaluable as the team prepares for the upcoming season.
There has been speculation in recent weeks over Matola's future, with newly promoted Premier League side Geita Gold reportedly interested in securing his services.
Matola is one of the longest-serving members of Simba's technical bench, having spent several years as the club's assistant coach. Simba's management is expected to finalize negotiations over a new contract in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the Simba squad is scheduled to return to training camp on Saturday, July 18, to begin preparations for the 2026/27 season.
As part of their pre-season program, Simba will also participate in the CECAFA Kagame Cup, which is set to run from July 24 to August 2, providing valuable preparation ahead of the new competitive campaign.
