The 2025/26 Premier League season ended on a high note for Simba defender Rushine De Reuck, who enjoyed an outstanding campaign.
Many believe there should be no debate over the Best Defender award, as Rushine has done enough to deserve the recognition.
The South African defender played a key role in leading Simba’s defensive line, while also making a significant contribution in attack. Rushine finished as the highest-scoring defender in the league, scoring four goals.
The defender, who has been compared to former Simba centre-back George Masatu because of his quality and effectiveness despite his smaller physical frame, could even be considered a contender for the season’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.
