Simba SC goalkeeper Yacoub Suleiman is continuing his recovery after undergoing knee surgery several months ago.
However, Simba is expected to be without him for an extended period, forcing the Msimbazi Reds to enter the transfer market in search of another local goalkeeper.
The goalkeeper’s brother, Mohamed Seif "Bello," said that Yacoub was initially using two crutches after the operation, but he has now reduced that to one, with his condition improving day by day.
Simba signed Yacoub after his impressive performances with JKT Tanzania, where he finished the 2024/25 season with eight clean sheets.
Yacoub suffered the injury while with the Tanzania national team, Taifa Stars, in Morocco as they prepared for an AFCON 2025 match against Nigeria in December last year.
Simba is currently without three of its players — Yacoub, defenders Wilson Nangu, and Abdulrazak Hamza — all of whom underwent surgery after suffering injuries during the previous season.
