Simba SC teenage defender Hussein Ally Mbegu (16) could be on the verge of opening a new chapter in his football career after reports indicated that Czech club SK Slavia Prague has expressed interest in handing him a trial opportunity.
According to the reports, Slavia Prague has contacted Simba SC to request Mbegu’s availability for a trial period of approximately two weeks. If he performs well and impresses the club’s officials, discussions over a possible transfer will begin based on the agreement reached with Simba.
Mbegu has become one of the most closely watched young talents in Tanzania after showcasing impressive performances with the national under-17 team, Serengeti Boys. The defender was named among the standout players at the AFCON U17 tournament, where he was included in the competition’s best XI after Tanzania finished as runners-up behind Senegal.
His ability to play with composure at such a young age has attracted attention from football stakeholders. Despite still being a teenager, Mbegu has already been given opportunities in a highly competitive Simba SC squad, reflecting the confidence the coaching staff has placed in him.
