Coastal Union attacking midfielder Bakari Selemani Msimu, who is reportedly awaiting official unveiling by Simba SC, has described the 2025/26 NBC Premier League season as a valuable and competitive experience that helped him grow as a player.
The midfielder, who finished the season with three league goals, said earning regular playing time in the starting lineup boosted his confidence and contributed to his development.
"Playing regularly in the starting team for most of the season taught me the discipline of maintaining my level, the importance of hard work in both team and individual training, and understanding what I need to do that benefits the team," he said.
Msimu, who was promoted to the senior team during the 2023/24 season by then-coach Mwinyi Zahera, said he hopes to maintain the level he displayed last season and continue improving in the upcoming campaign.
Asked about reports linking him with a move to Simba SC for the 2026/27 season, the player said:
"I cannot answer that question. Simba know who their players are, and they are the ones responsible for announcing them. The most important thing for me is that I had a good and competitive season that helped me grow mentally."
Msimu is among the local players reportedly signed by Simba ahead of next season. Other names linked with the club include Kelvin Nashoni, Nathaniel Chilambo, and Ramadhan Chobwedo.
