After ending the 2025/26 campaign by winning the CRDB Federation Cup, Simba SC have made their ambitions for even greater success next season clear.
For the first time in eight years, Simba have confirmed their participation in the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup, the premier club competition for teams from East and Central Africa.
Simba will use the tournament as part of their preparations for the 2026/27 season. Head coach Steve Barker has approved the team's participation in the competition, which will be held in Rwanda, believing it will provide valuable pre-season preparation.
Simba's players were granted leave yesterday to begin their end-of-season break, but they are expected to return early to begin preparations for the tournament, which is scheduled to kick off on July 24.
12 Teams Confirmed for the 2026 CECAFA Kagame Cup
The Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) has so far confirmed that 12 teams will compete in the tournament, with the winner being crowned East and Central African club champions.
