Simba SC are the 2025/26 CRDB Cup champions after securing a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Azam FC in the final at Gombani Stadium in Pemba.
It was a tightly contested match that was decided by a single moment in the second half, with Yahya Zaid scoring the winning goal after connecting with a free-kick delivered by Elie Mpanzu.
Simba entered the final with one clear objective—to lift the CRDB Cup—and successfully achieved their mission with a disciplined performance.
Azam FC finished the match with 10 men after midfielder Feisal Salum, popularly known as "Fei Toto," was shown a straight red card for punching Ismail Toure.
It marked a strong season for Simba, who earned silverware after narrowly missing out on the Tanzania Mainland Premier League title.
