Simba SC are reported to have completed the signing of 23-year-old Nigerian attacking midfielder Ibraheem Jabaar following the expiry of his contract with Stellenbosch FC.
Jabaar joins the Msimbazi-based club as a free agent after his deal with Stellenbosch came to an end.
Head coach Steve Barker is said to have played a key role in convincing the midfielder to join Simba, with reports indicating that Jabaar declined contract renewal talks with Stellenbosch.
Jabaar enjoyed a successful spell at Stellenbosch while the team was coached by Barker. He also previously spent time on loan at Israeli club Maccabi Petah Tikva.
In addition to playing as a central midfielder, Jabaar is capable of operating as an attacking midfielder or on the left wing, giving Simba added versatility in midfield.
The Nigerian is also expected to attend tomorrow's CRDB Cup final between Simba SC and Azam FC at Gombani Stadium in Pemba.
