Simba SC are reported to have reached an agreement to sign Nigerian international midfielder Ibraheem Jabaar following the expiry of his contract with South African club Stellenbosch FC.
According to sources within Simba's management, the two parties have finalized the initial terms of the deal, with Jabaar expected to arrive in Tanzania soon to complete the transfer.
Reports indicate that the 23-year-old has been offered a two-year contract that would keep him at the Msimbazi-based club until 2028.
Jabaar's signing is understood to have been made following the recommendation of Simba head coach Steve Barker, who previously worked with the midfielder during their time together at Stellenbosch FC.
Barker reportedly believes Jabaar is one of the players who understands his tactical system well and can significantly strengthen Simba's midfield ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Jabaar left Stellenbosch as a free agent after the two sides failed to reach an agreement over a contract extension. During his time at the club, he made 140 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals and providing seven assists. He also spent time on loan at Israeli club Maccabi Petah Tikva.
In addition to playing as a central midfielder, Jabaar is capable of operating as an attacking midfielder or on the left wing, giving Barker greater tactical flexibility in the attacking third.
