Simba Communications Manager Ahmed Ali has stated that the club is now fully focused on winning the CRDB Federation Cup following the conclusion of the NBC Premier League season.
On Saturday, July 4, Simba will face Azam FC at Gombani Stadium in Pemba at 11:00 a.m. in the final of the competition.
Speaking shortly after Simba’s 1-0 victory over KMC in their final league match, Ahmed said that despite the team’s strong performances throughout the season, they were unable to win the league title, citing human errors by match officials as one of the contributing factors.
He added that fans are aware the team deserved to be champions this season, but since it was not possible, the players must now focus on bringing joy back to supporters by winning the CRDB Cup.
"We have told the players that we missed out on the league title for the fifth time. This time, we are not dwelling on it too much because there were many complications."
"But in the CRDB Cup, we have nothing to excuse ourselves for. Let’s go and fight, let’s play for the Simba badge, and let’s fight for the happiness of Simba fans."
