Simba SC's Head of Information and Communications, Ahmed Ali, says the club is focused on achieving its own objectives and is not competing with anyone else as the season draws to a close.
Speaking after Simba's 2-0 victory over Singida Black Stars, Ahmed said the team has remained committed to the goals it set for itself and will only evaluate its success once the campaign is over.
"When there were five matches remaining, we made our position clear—we wanted to win every game. So far, we have completed four of those matches, with one still to play," he said.
"On Tuesday, we will complete the season by playing our final match against KMC at KMC Complex."
"We are not competing with anyone else. We are focused on achieving the goals we set for ourselves. Once we complete the final match, we will be in a position to assess whether we have succeeded or not."
"At the moment, I cannot talk about the title because the season is not over. After Tuesday's match, I will be able to speak based on what we have achieved," Ahmed added.
Following the victory over Singida Black Stars, Simba moved to 70 points in second place, two points behind league leaders Yanga, who have 72 points.
Simba will conclude their league campaign against KMC, while Yanga will face JKT Tanzania away from home at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium.
Mathematically, Simba's title hopes remain alive. They must defeat KMC and hope Yanga lose to JKT Tanzania to have a chance of winning the league championship.
