With the Mainland Premier League season nearing its conclusion, the curtain will officially fall on Tuesday when Simba SC face KMC at KMC Complex in their final league match of the campaign.
Although he endured a slow start to the season, attacking midfielder Elie Mpanzu has grown into one of Simba's most influential players.
In recent matches, Mpanzu has consistently contributed to Simba's attacking output, either by scoring goals or providing assists.
He scored his seventh league goal of the season in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Singida Black Stars at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium.
Mpanzu also showcased his creativity by setting up Simba's second goal, which was scored by Anicet Oura.
With 17 direct goal contributions, Mpanzu has been involved in more league goals than any other Simba player this season.
He also leads the entire league in assists with 10, ahead of Azam FC midfielder Feisal Salum, who has registered eight.
Heading into the final league match against KMC, Mpanzu has another opportunity to improve his impressive statistics as Simba look to finish the season strongly before shifting their focus to the CRDB Bank Federation Cup final against Azam FC.
