Simba SC's 3-0 victory over Mtibwa Sugar yesterday has officially secured the club a place in next season's CAF Champions League.
The Msimbazi Reds have now accumulated 67 points, a total that cannot be matched by any team below them with only two matches remaining in the season.
It is now confirmed that Simba and Yanga will represent Tanzania in the CAF Champions League, while Azam FC and Singida Black Stars have secured qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup.
Azam FC have mathematically guaranteed a third-place finish in the league standings, while Singida Black Stars are assured of ending the campaign in fourth place.
As a result, the upcoming league match between Simba and Singida Black Stars will carry different levels of importance for the two sides. While Singida will be playing mainly to complete their schedule, Simba will be targeting all three points to keep their Premier League title hopes alive.
