Simba attacking midfielder Elie Mpanzu continued his outstanding creative form by providing the assist for Anicet Oura's goal in Simba's victory over Mtibwa Sugar at Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro.
The assist was Mpanzu's ninth of the season, moving him clear at the top of the league's assist charts ahead of Azam FC midfielder Feisal Salum, who has eight assists.
Mpanzu has also scored six goals this season, taking his total goal contributions to 15. He is now level with Clatous Chama, who has recorded eight goals and seven assists.
Meanwhile, Suleiman Mwalimu's goal in the match saw him move to the top of Simba's scoring charts with nine league goals.
Defender Rushine de Reuck increased his tally to four goals for the season, while Anicet Oura also reached nine goals following his strike against Mtibwa Sugar.
The victory lifted Simba to 67 points and officially secured the club's qualification for next season's CAF Champions League.
Simba remain firmly in the Premier League title race, sitting just two points behind rivals Yanga with two matches left to play.
