Simba SC maintained the pressure in the NBC Premier League title race after defeating Mtibwa Sugar 3-0 at Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro.
The Msimbazi Reds began their pursuit of all three points in impressive fashion and needed only nine minutes to take the lead through a penalty converted by Rushine de Reuck.
Simba controlled much of the match and went into the halftime break with a deserved 1-0 advantage.
In the second half, the visitors continued to push forward in search of a comfortable victory. Suleiman Mwalimu doubled Simba's lead in the 77th minute before Anicet Oura sealed the win with a third goal in the closing stages of the match.
The victory earned Simba three crucial points and kept them firmly in the championship race, although their rivals Yanga also secured a victory against Azam FC.
With only a few matches remaining in the season, the battle for the NBC Premier League title remains intense as both giants continue to match each other's results.
