Simba SC have arrived in Arusha early ahead of their CRDB Cup semi-final clash against Coastal Union, scheduled for Saturday, June 20, at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium.
As part of their preparations, the club has already begun motivational and fan engagement activities aimed at boosting support for the crucial encounter.
Speaking to Simba members and supporters in Mererani, Head of Communications Ahmed Ali urged fans to turn up in large numbers to back the team as they push for a place in the final.
Ahmed noted that Simba have failed to reach the final in the last three seasons, but insisted this time the team is determined to go all the way and fight for the trophy.
“We have lost semi-finals three times. We played in Mwanza and lost, we lost in Mtwara, and we lost in Manyara. But now it is Arusha. Arusha has never let us down. We believe with strong support from people of Arusha, on Saturday we will reach the final,” he said.
“This year we want the league title and the cup. If it becomes difficult, then at least one of the two. Only two matches remain to win this cup. With the squad we have, we should not miss out on silverware.”
“In the league, if not for interference from those who acted against us, we would be in a better position. Some have already been punished for trying to deny us victories,” he added.
“I know there is no official supporters branch here in Mererani yet, but we are in the final stages of issuing membership cards. I urge every Simba supporter in Mererani to join once registration begins, and I will personally come to launch the branch,” Ahmed Ali concluded.
