Simba SC goalkeeper Yacoub Suleiman has been absent from competitive action for several months due to injury problems.
Since suffering an injury ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco earlier this year, Yacoub has been unable to return to the pitch because of an ongoing knee issue.
The goalkeeper, who joined Simba from JKT Tanzania, has undergone knee surgery after conventional treatment efforts failed to resolve the problem.
As a result, Simba supporters should not expect to see him feature in the club’s remaining matches this season, and there is also a possibility that he could miss the start of next season.
Yacoub’s prolonged absence continues to present a challenge for Simba, with the club potentially forced to return to the transfer market in search of another local goalkeeper.
At the beginning of the season, Yacoub and Moussa Camara were expected to be Simba’s first-choice goalkeepers. However, injuries to both players compelled the club to sign Djibrilla Kassali, who has since shared goalkeeping duties with Hussein Abel.
