Simba SC have officially resumed training at Mo Simba Arena, beginning preparations for the final matches of the Tanzania Mainland Premier League season as well as the semi-final stage of the CRDB Cup.
All players not engaged with their national teams reported to camp as the squad steps up preparations, with the aim of finishing the season strongly and competing for the remaining titles.
Target: Win All Remaining Matches
Chairman of Simba SC’s Board of Directors, Crescentius Magori, has made it clear that the club’s objective is to fight for both remaining trophies this season. While he acknowledged that the league title is not fully in their hands, he insisted that anything is still possible in the remaining fixtures.
Simba currently sit second in the league standings with 58 points, two points behind leaders Yanga SC, who have 60 points. This keeps the title race open heading into the final matches of the season.
15 Points Still in Play
Simba still have five league matches remaining, meaning a maximum of 15 points is available if they win all their games. This gives them a mathematical chance of challenging for the title, provided they maintain consistency and focus.
The “Msimbazi Reds” will travel for two away matches against Mbeya City FC and Mtibwa Sugar FC, before returning to Dar es Salaam for three home fixtures against Pamba Jiji FC, Singida Black Stars, and KMC FC.
Their rivals Yanga SC also have crucial matches remaining, including fixtures against Azam FC, JKT Tanzania, Mashujaa FC, Fountain Gate FC, and TRA United.
Yanga are scheduled for three away matches and two home games, making the title race highly competitive until the final whistle of the season.
CRDB Cup: Crucial Semi-Final
Beyond the league, Simba are also preparing for a key CRDB Cup semi-final clash against Coastal Union, set to be played on June 21 at Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha.
This match is vital for Simba as they aim to secure another trophy this season.
