Simba SC Head of Information and Communications Ahmed Ali has confirmed that the club has officially received notice of the schedule change for their Tanzania Premier League match against Mbeya City, set to be played on June 17 at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya.
The fixture will now kick off at 2:00 PM local time instead of the originally scheduled 4:00 PM.
The decision by the League Board has generated significant debate on social media. However, Ahmed Ali stated that Simba fully accepts the adjustment and will honour the fixture at the new kickoff time.
"We have received the change of kickoff time for our match against Mbeya City to 2:00 PM with an open mind."
"We understand that the decision was made in accordance with league regulations, and we respect those regulations."
"We have no concerns and no questions because this is part of the league's rules," Ahmed said.
The match will be the first time Simba play a league fixture at 2:00 PM this season. However, it will not be the first occasion the club has played at that time in the history of the Tanzania Mainland Premier League.
As the title race enters its final stages, Simba remain focused on securing maximum points from their remaining fixtures regardless of the scheduling changes.
